Register for B.C.’s Emergency Health Provider Registry

Jun 6, 2025

This information is being shared on behalf of Ted Patterson, Assistant Deputy Minister, Health Workforce Policy and Planning, Ministry of Health. If you have additional questions about the Emergency Health Provider Registry, please email ephrquestions@gov.bc.ca.

Thank you for your continued dedication to serving the people of British Columbia, and for being part our ongoing effort to ensure everyone in B.C. has access to comprehensive and quality public health-care services.

The Emergency Health Provider Registry (EHPR) is an online registry of health-care professionals who may be available to be deployed on short notice. It is an important part of B.C.’s plan to ensure the health system is prepared to care for people in B.C. through any emergency.

Register to help provincial emergency response planning

If you have not yet signed up for the EHPR, I encourage you to consider registering to support emergency response in the province. Please register here.

If you have already signed up for the EHPR, you should have received an email on March 25, 2025, with instructions to take no action to remain registered, how to update your information, and how to deregister if desired. If you registered for the EHPR before March 25, 2025, and did not receive this email, please re-register here.

Signing up for the EHPR does not create an obligation for you to respond to emergency events. EHPR-related deployments are always voluntary, and you can select which health regions you would be willing to support. Please discuss potential deployment with your supervisor prior to registering on the EHPR, as all deployments will require supervisor sign-off. It is also important to remember that registration in the EHPR does not guarantee that you will be contacted for deployment, as this will be dependent on the specific needs of each health authority.

If you have questions about the EHPR and the registration process, please refer to the Ministry of Health’s website for answers to frequently asked questions and other information.

On behalf of the Ministry of Health, please accept our genuine gratitude for your willingness to consider joining this provincial registry to help your colleagues and people across communities in B.C.

Sincerely,
Emergency Health Provider Registry Team
