The BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) is looking to fill a newly created role of Registration and Exams Consultant. In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your combined nursing background, policy development and research experience to support the ongoing development and implementation of BCCNM’s registration assessment and exam policies and procedures for nurses and midwives.
You are an experienced nurse who enjoys policy development and research. You are passionate about continuous improvement and have an understanding for BCCNM’s mandate to protect the public. You have noteworthy communication skills, employ creativity to solve complex problems, and the proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
BCCNM is the college empowered under the Health Professions Act to regulate the practice of all licensed practical nurses, nurse practitioners, registered midwives, registered nurses, and registered psychiatric nurses in British Columbia. Regulation helps to protect the public by ensuring that professional care or service received by the public is competent, ethical, and meets the standards that society views as acceptable. The Registration & Exams Consultant (REC) develops and revises registration assessment and exam policies and procedures and manages the implementation of bylaw and legislative changes related to registration and exams. Ensuring alignment with the Health Professions Act, BCCNM Bylaws, Regulatory Philosophy, Human Rights and other legislation, the REC provides interpretation and advice to internal staff and external stakeholders regarding registration, particularly with respect to registration assessments and exams. The REC develops and maintains relationships with external stakeholders, identifies issues and monitors trends to ensure assessment and exams policies and procedures remain relevant.
