Do you have excellent interpersonal skills? Are you interested in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring safe nurses and midwives are available for BC’s public? If this sounds like you, this temporary opportunity may be for you!
The BC College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) is seeking articulate, detail oriented and service-focussed individuals to join our team during our busy renewal period. During this period, BCCNM will renew the licensure of nursing professionals and midwives across BC. Working as a member of a dedicated Registration Program Team, the Renewal Assessor will determine whether nursing or midwifery applicants are eligible for renewal with BCCNM and provide direction and advice to applicants.
This is a temporary, full-time position from January 4 to April 1, 2022.
BCCNM is the college empowered under the Health Professions Act to regulate the practice of all licensed practical nurses, nurse practitioners, registered midwives, registered nurses, and registered psychiatric nurses in British Columbia. Regulation helps to protect the public by ensuring that professional care or service received by the public is competent, ethical, and meets the standards that society views as acceptable.
At BCCNM, we value and celebrate diversity. We are committed to fostering an open, welcoming, and inclusive work environment where we value and respect all perspectives. We aspire to employ staff who are representative of the diverse B.C. communities we serve. We hire based on merit and encourage qualified applicants of all backgrounds to apply.
Each of us strives to meet our commitment to the following values to maintain a workplace that is welcoming, respectful, and supports the well-being of every BCCNM employee:
Our office is located at 200 Granville Street in Downtown Vancouver. Due to the pandemic, most of our team is currently working from home. In the future, as public health measures evolve, you will likely work both remotely and in the office.
As a member of the team, you can expect to be working in a collaborative, team-based environment and to be treated in a respectful and professional manner. The college is committed to employee professional development and career growth. We promise to provide you with rewarding work that challenges you. While your workload will be busy, the college supports staff in achieving a healthy work-life balance.
Through the application of the Health Professions Act (HPA), BCCNM bylaws, policies, and procedures the Renewal Assessor works as a member of the Registration Assessment team to determine whether applicants are eligible for registration with BCCNM and provides direction and advice to registration applicants. Where an applicant meets the registration requirements, the Renewal Assessor is responsible for issuing registration on behalf of the Registration Committee and Registrar.
We offer accommodation for applicants with disabilities to take part in the selection process. If we contact you about an interview or testing, please let us know if you require accommodation. We keep all information in relation to accommodation confidential.
