Unshakeable confidence in nursing and midwifery care
BCCNM is currently accepting applications for our regulatory committees, for terms beginning January 2022. Committees are comprised of a mix of registrants and members of the public and terms run between one to three years.
In particular, we are encouraging applications from Indigenous people; members from racialized and marginalized groups; individuals identifying as LGBTQIA2S+; and individuals with lived experience of physical, cognitive, or mental health conditions, or their caregivers. Deadline to apply is Oct. 1, 2021.
Working with limited resources
Have you been asked to increase your client load, work additional hours, work in unfamiliar areas, and/or work without adequate resources?
Situations where the need for health care is greater than the available resources can happen in any practice setting. Check out this practice resource for strategies that can help.
Inquiry, Discipline, and Monitoring updates
BCCNM publishes a variety of professional conduct notices on its website. These notices include consent agreements, Discipline Committee and Inquiry Committee notices, and Inquiry and Discipline hearing notices. While all of these notices are public information, only exceptional outcomes (i.e., Inquiry Committee order, Discipline order, hearing outcome) and circumstances (i.e., discipline hearing) are highlighted in registrant newsletters.
