Each year Doris finds it harder to manage this time of the year. She is often grumpy with friends and co-workers — she has to force herself to be pleasant. She’s started taking breaks alone to avoid talking to others. Her shifts seem to drag and she has to work to stay focused.

REx-PN now the practical nursing exam in B.C.

Effective Jan. 4, 2022, the Regulatory Exam - Practical Nurse (REx-PN) is now the recognized entry-to-practice exam for practical nursing in British Columbia and Ontario.

Working with limited resources webinar: recording available

In November 2021, the Nursing Policy Secretariat facilitated a provincial webinar on working with limited resources in collaboration with BCCNM, the BC Nurses’ Union, the Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of B.C., the Provincial Nursing and Allied Health Council, and the Canadian Nurses Protective Society. Inquiry, Discipline, and Monitoring updates


BCCNM publishes a variety of professional conduct notices on its website. These notices include consent agreements, Discipline Committee and Inquiry Committee notices, and Inquiry and Discipline hearing notices. While all of these notices are public information, only exceptional outcomes (i.e., Inquiry Committee order, Discipline order, hearing outcome) and circumstances (i.e., discipline hearing) are highlighted in registrant newsletters.
