New DST for RNs: RSV immunoprophylactic agents

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) immunization has expanded over the last few years to include several new immunizing agents and new immunization provider groups. RNs who compound, dispense, or administer immunoprophylactic agents for the purpose of preventing RSV infection will now refer to the decision support tools (DSTs) within the BC Immunization Manual.

Sept. 26 marked the 10-year anniversary of the passing of Keegan Combes, a member of the Skwah First Nation. Keegan died due to a series of preventable errors rooted in systemic and interpersonal racism. We take this time to pause, reflect, and acknowledge the historical and ongoing harms experienced by Indigenous Peoples in B.C.’s health-care system and reaffirm our commitment to addressing Indigenous-specific racism.
