Consent agreement

Jun 17, 2024

On June 17, 2024, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a consent agreement between BCCNM and a registrant, to address conduct that occurred on July 15, 2021.

In July 2021, the registrant attended her place of work and, and in the midst of a health crisis, became involved in a critical incident that may have risked the health and safety of themselves, other staff, and/or patients in the work environment. Fortunately, the incident was resolved without harm to the registrant, staff, or patients. The registrant has since engaged in treatment to address the health condition that was causally linked to the incident.

The registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. Regular reports from treating physicians regarding compliance with treatment recommendations.
  2. Disclosure of treatment recommendations to relevant employer representative(s).
  3. Limits on their registration to provide appropriate support for them on their return to work.

The agreement will remain in place for a minimum of three years of continuous nursing practice.

The name of the registrant has been withheld in accordance with section 39.3 (4) (a) of the Health Professions Act for the purposes of not identifying a registrant or their personal health information respecting the condition that impaired their ability to practice nursing or midwifery.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
