On June 10, 2025, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Sherri Hedberg of Langley, B.C. to address conduct issues that occurred between 2004 and 2005. During this time period, Ms. Hedberg engaged in and maintained an inappropriate personal relationship with a vulnerable youth patient with mental health and substance use issues.
BCCNM considers that breaches of professional boundaries in the nurse/client relationship where nurses engage in inappropriate relationships with vulnerable patients in their care is professional misconduct of the most serious nature. It is conduct that harms patients and erodes trust in the profession.
Given that Ms. Hedberg has previously had her registration cancelled for similar conduct, the Inquiry Committee is satisfied that these terms will protect the public.
