On August 22, 2018 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between CRNBC and Reena Chahal of Abbotsford, BC, to remediate practice issues from July to September 2017 related to a lack of basic nursing assessment skills, communication related to lack of relevant detail in handover to colleagues, time management, organization, priority setting, accountability, inability to carry a full patient load, and unsafe medication preparation and administration practices.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and condition on practice, including: remaining non-practicing until successful completion of an independent competency assessment, resulting remedial education including a consolidated clinical practicum or completion of a Nurse-Re-Entry Program; upon return to practice, limiting her employment for one year to one Employer and one unit; completion of an ethics course; completion of a Regulatory Practice Consultation; and completion of a Learning Plan.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
