On August 19, 2019, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Oluwakeyede (Keyede) Osuntokun of Squamish, to remediate practice issues related to:
- A medication error involving a narcotic and subsequently creating erroneous, false, or deliberately misleading documentation to obscure that error;
-
Her failure to appropriately assess a patient after that patient had a fall earlier in the day; and
-
Her failure to follow a patient's care plan related to the presence of an indwelling urinary catheter.
Overall, in relation to these incidents, the Registrant did not provide client-focused care and did not demonstrate sound clinical judgement. The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and condition on her practise, including: completing remedial education courses, engaging in a period of mentored supervision for six weeks upon her return to practice, providing weekly reports to the BCCNP, and appropriate disclosure to her employer.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
