Henderson, Rebecca, RN

Consent agreement

Jan 28, 2020

On January 28, 2020, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Rebecca Lynn Henderson, RN (the "Registrant") of Lake Cowichan, B.C. to remediate practice issues related to her breaches of patient confidentiality by accessing the private medical records of 18 individuals for personal and improper purposes.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a condition on practice, including: a public reprimand; 4-month suspension followed by a two-year limitation on her practice restricting her nursing practice to locations where the Registrant has access only to the personal and confidential information of patients under her immediate care; coursework in the area of privacy and confidentiality; and meeting with a BCCNP Practice Support Consultant to complete a self-assessment identifying the circumstances that lead to her misconduct and preventing its recurrence.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
