On April 15, 2020 a Registrant entered into a consent agreement with BCCNP in order to remediate conduct and fitness concerns. In 2019, the Registrant attended work impaired, endangered a colleague, and intended to provide nursing care while intoxicated. The incident led to a criminal conviction of impaired driving. Following the incident the Registrant was diagnosed with a severe alcohol use disorder.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to a reprimand and a two-week suspension of registration, as well as regular monitoring for fitness to practice nursing for a period of, at a minimum, five years.
The name of the Registrant has been withheld in accordance with section 39.3 (4) (a) of the Health Professions Act for the purposes of not identifying the personal health information of the Registrant respecting the condition.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the undertakings will protect the public.
