Hampel, Gavin, LPN

Consent agreement

Dec 3, 2020

On Dec. 3, 2020, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and LPN Gavin Hampel of Coquitlam, BC, to remediate practice issues that occurred in February of 2020 related to failing to follow agency policies by transferring a resident who had fallen to a wheelchair, and falsifying the record by documenting vital signs without taking them.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a condition on practice, including a suspension of registration for one week, and limits including a prohibition from working as sole nurse or nurse in charge or providing supervision to students or others, remedial education related to assessments, ethics and documentation, and a regulatory practice consultation program.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
