Consent agreement

On December 15, 2021 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Joanne Hellbach of Surrey, BC, to remediate practice issues that occurred in Medical Day Care in April of 2021 related to failing to adequately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses to interventions, and respond appropriately to a patient exhibiting signs of distress.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to limits and conditions on practice, including: a four-week suspension of registration, a prohibition on being sole RN or RN in charge or providing supervision to others including students, and a limit on practice to inserting IVs and PICCs only under direct supervision until such time that satisfactory practice, including assessment and documentation, is confirmed.
