Consent agreement

Feb 16, 2022

On February 16, 2022 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Ranjan Dutta of Kelowna, B.C. to remediate practice issues that occurred between April and August 2021 related to providing care to patients in a rough, rushed and rude manner, failing to appropriately respond to a patient in pain and requesting assistance, and communicating with patients in an unprofessional manner.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. For a period of 6 months, a limit prohibiting them from working overtime and a limit prohibiting them from working nights.
  2. Remedial education in communication and conflict management.
  3. A 12-month period of workplace mentorship.
  4. A commitment to maintain appropriate workload balance and ensure fitness to practice.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
