On July 19, 2023, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Ming Yang of Ladysmith to address practice issues that occurred between January 25 and December 7, 2021, related to medication administration errors, lack of critical thinking and clinical judgement, failure to practice appropriate aseptic technique, and ineffective time management and organizational skills.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
A limit prohibiting the Registrant from working in an acute care or critical care environment for five years, except as provided under 'c' below.
A limit that the Registrant will only work as an RN in a long-term care environment for five years, except as provided under 'c' below.
Should the Registrant wish to apply for an acute care or critical care RN position within the next five years, the Registrant will successfully complete the RN Competency Assessment (CAEN) and the online Canadian Nursing Theory and Practice course prior to applying for an acute care or critical care RN position .
The Registrant will commit to self-regulate with regard to competency and ask for assistance/guidance when required.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
