On Feb. 22, 2024, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Kelsey Santos, RN of Vancouver to address issues that occurred between 2018 and 2022 related to inappropriate workplace communications with peers and insensitive interactions with and around vulnerable patients from marginalized communities.
The registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
a. A suspension of their nursing registration for nine (9) weeks;
b. Remedial education and coaching in Indigenous cultural safety, workplace harassment, and appropriate workplace communication; and
c. Developing a learning plan, which will be shared with their employer and with BCCNM.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
