Ali, Nadia, RN

Consent agreement

May 13, 2024

On May 13, 2024, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a consent agreement between BCCNM and Nadia Ali, RN of Burnaby, B.C. to address conduct issues that occurred between May and August 2023 related to privacy breaches when she accessed confidential health records of a significant number of patients through the health authority's computer system unrelated to her assigned patients and without a work-related purpose.

The registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. A suspension of their nursing registration for two weeks and a reprimand for breaching patient privacy and confidentiality;

  2. Remedial education in privacy and confidentiality; and

  3. A regulatory practice consultation to address the foundational issues underpinning the agreement.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
