NCSBN seeking RNs and LPNs for exam development opportunities

Are you a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) who is interested in exam development activities for the LPN entry to practice exam, the REx-PN? 

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is seeking RNs and LPNs from B.C. to participate in an Item Review Panel (IRP) May 14-15, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois that will review new exam questions. All travel related expenses will be covered or reimbursed by the exam vendor.

To be considered for participation, you must be an RN or LPN who:

  • ​Is currently registered with BCCNM in good standing;
  • Has been employed as an RN or LPN for at least two years;
  • Is knowledgeable of the current LPN scope and practice of nursing, including entry-level LPN practice;
  • Has employer permission to be released from work duties and/or be available on your own time to participate in the review panel activities;
  • Is available from May 13-16, 2024 for travel to and from Chicago with valid passport;
  • Has not participated in nursing licensure examination development activities, including the development of nursing license exam preparation guides and courses in the previous two years. 

In addition, you will need to be: 

  1. ​​Currently employed in clinical nursing practice and work directly with LPNs who have entered nursing practice during the past 12 months (8 hours minimum per week); 

OR

  1. ​​Currently employed as a clinical instructor (8 hours minimum per week), preferably working with senior level LPN students.
