The BCCNM board on June 4, 2026, approved revisions to the Certified Registered Nurses: Reproductive Health practice standard to reflect its approval in March 2026 of two British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) courses. These courses—Contraceptive Management and Sexually Transmitted Infections—now include prescribing competencies, negating the need for certified RNs to complete an additional prescribing course. This change takes effect immediately.
Context
