Midwifery registration and jurisprudence exams cancelled

Apr 14, 2021

On April 9, the Canadian Midwifery Regulators Council announced that the May 6, 2021 sitting of the Canadian Midwifery Registration Exam (CMRE) was being postponed due to the status of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.

Similarly, due to the current provincial restrictions in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19, including restrictions on non-essential travel, BCCNM has decided to cancel the May 7, 2021 sitting of the Midwifery Jurisprudence exam. The exam will be rescheduled at a later date, and candidates registered to write the exam on May 7 are being notified.

Provisional registration is available for eligible applicants who have met all other registration requirements and wish to work while waiting to write the CMRE and/or the BCCNM Jurisprudence Exam.
