Revised entry-level competencies for midwives effective Dec. 1, 2021

​A revised version of the Entry-Level Competencies for Registered Midwives is now available; the revisions come into effect on Dec. 1, 2021​​ to replace the current version (2017). 

Entry-level competencies (ELCs) reflect essential knowledge, skills, and judgement required of midwives must possess to begin practice. The ELCs are revised nationally approximately every five years to ensure their continued relevance to midwifery practice across Canada.
