Priority access to COVID-19 booster vaccination available to community-based registrants

Dec 17, 2021

This message is being shared on behalf of ImmunizeBC. Please note: BCCNM does not have any further information regarding boosters; questions should be directed to ImmunizeBC by calling 1-833-838-2323.

As part of the provincial effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, nurses and midwives working in community or private settings —categorized as “community health care workers"—will be invited to receive their COVID-19 booster starting in January 2022. Invitations will be based on the interval from their dose 2 vaccination.

Registrants working in acute and residential care settings should have already received information on accessing their booster shots.

If you work in other areas, such as community or private settings, you need to TAKE ACTION NOW to get a priority access booster shot, including sharing information with staff/colleagues in your office/practice/business.

How to register

Please refer to this letter for detailed instructions on getting registered.

Registration for this booster program requires an access code. The code is confidential and intended only for health care workers—It is not transferable and anyone who is not eligible to use this code will be turned away at the vaccination clinic.

This access code was emailed to all practising nurses and midwives on Dec. 17, 2021.

Registrants who are not yet vaccinated

The college also urges any registrant who has not yet been vaccinated to register with BC's Get Vaccinated system to book their first appointment and encourage any unvaccinated office staff/colleagues to book their first or second dose.
