In 2020, the BCCNM registrar declared an emergency situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since that time, BCCNM has offered temporary emergency registration (TER) to eligible individuals so they can assist with the health care response in British Columbia. Temporary emergency registrants have played an integral role in providing care throughout the pandemic, and we thank them for their service.
After careful review, BCCNM will end the declared emergency situation on Dec. 31, 2023. TER will no longer be a registration option after this date. To support this change, BCCNM will not accept new TER applications after June 30, 2023.
BCCNM will work directly with temporary emergency registrants who wish to maintain registration with BCCNM after Dec. 31, 2023. Options available, including the transition to practising registration or the return to a previously held non-practising registration, will depend on the registrants' individual circumstances. More information will be shared with impacted registrants in the coming months.
