QA assessments

BCCNM's Quality Assurance (QA) Program carries out assessments of professional performance as required under Division 8 of the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) and Part 11, sections 11-8, 11-9 and 11-12 of the BCCNM bylaws.

Quality assurance assessments provide an opportunity for nurses and midwives to receive valuable feedback and guidance to improve professional performance. Active participation in quality assurance assessments supports the provision of safe, competent and ethical care and completion of these activities is required to maintain licensure with BCCNM.

Deferrals

Nurses and midwives who are unable to complete a quality assurance assessment due to a medical or parental leave, unemployment, or not practising as a nurse or midwife may request a deferral.
