​Government announces end to COVID-19 public-health emergency, introduces new vaccine registry

​Today, the provincial government ended the COVID-19 public-health emergency and with it, the COVID-19 vaccine mandate in public health-care settings. 

Moving forward, public health-care employees will be required to disclose their COVID-19 and influenza immunization status through a provincial registry. This registry is not affiliated with BCCNM in any way. Please direct questions to the Ministry of Health or your employer. 

Temporary changes to the following practice standards relating to specimen collection for the purpose of SARS-CoV-2 screening have been rescinded:

BCCNM supports the delivery of safe, evidence-based care, and expects registrants to protect clients from the risk of infection. We acknowledge today's announcements from the Provincial Health Officer and Minister of Health and we will continue to work closely with our partners and the government in service of our public protection mandate.
