BCCNM reviews and recognizes B.C. nursing education programs and courses required for initial RN or NP registration. The college also reviews and recognizes re-entry to practice nursing programs.
After students graduate from a recognized B.C. nursing education program, they can apply for BCCNM registration.
Applicants must meet entry-level competencies and BCCNM's standards of practice for registered nurses and nurse practitioners to practise as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner in B.C.
Please note: If you complete your nursing program outside of Canada, you will need to apply for registration as an internationally educated nurse.

After students graduate from a recognized B.C. psychiatric nursing education program, they can apply for registration.

Kwantlen also offers a degree completion program for RPNs with diplomas, wishing to obtain a Bachelor’s degree. This is an academic credential only, and is not recognized as meeting the education requirements for registration.

Psychiatric nursing education programs are currently offered in three other Canadian provinces: Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Graduates of approved psychiatric nursing programs in these other provinces may apply for registration with BCCNM.
