Anderson, Nathan, LPN

Consent agreement

Sep 10, 2024

On Sept. 10, 2024, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a consent agreement between BCCNM and Nathan Anderson of Victoria to address a breach of a consent agreement with BCCNM and conduct and practice issues related to medication administration, documentation, physical assessments, and wound care that occurred between July 10 and Aug. 15, 2023, while working at two long-term care facilities.

The registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. A suspension of their registration for two weeks for repeated breaches in relation to documentation, medication administration, and physical assessments;
  2. A public reprimand for breaching the terms of a previous consent agreement with BCCNM;
  3. Direct and indirect supervision and workplace mentorship of their nursing practice for four months.

For the duration of supervised practice and workplace mentorship (four months), the registrant must:

  1. Have only one employer;
  2. Not supervise students or orient new staff;
  3. Stay with the same employer and in the same practice setting and unit;
  4. Not work alone for six months after the completion of their direct and indirect supervision/mentorship period;
  5. Complete a regulatory practice consultation program to address the foundational issues underpinning this agreement;
  6. Develop a learning plan, which will be shared with their employer and with BCCNM.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
