On Aug. 21, 2025, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a consent agreement between BCCNM and Christopher Parungao of Surrey to address practice issues that occurred on Oct. 19, 2022, related to not conducting ordered checks on a psychiatric patient and falsely documenting that the patient was seen when they were not. Additionally, the registrant breached a signed agreement to notify BCCNM of all his employers.
Documentation forms a comprehensive record of care provided to a client. Nurses are responsible and accountable for documenting in the client record the care they personally provide to the client. The registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
a. A suspension of their registration for four weeks for not following the physician's order and falsifying documentation,
b. A consecutive suspension of their nursing registration for three days for breaching a signed undertaking,
c. A Limit on supervising students for six months, and
d. Remedial education in ethics.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will address the professional and practice concerns that arose and will protect the public.
