On March 31, 2026, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a consent agreement between BCCNM and Iona Albanese of Port Coquitlam to address practice issues that occurred from March to April 2025 related to patient assessment after a fall and documentation.
Nurses must take action to promote safe, competent, and ethical care for clients, and are accountable and responsible for own nursing decisions, actions, and professional conduct.
The registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
a. A reprimand and remedial education courses in the domains of documentation, ethics, responsibility, and accountability, scope of practice, and assessments.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will address the professional and practice concerns that arose and will protect the public.
