Summary Protection Order

Jun 23, 2026

On the direction of the Investigation Committee, a Summary Protection Order was made by the registrar on June 23, 2026, regarding Mark Wade, a registered nurse, suspending their license. The Summary Protection Order can be found here. As directed by the Investigation Committee, the following information is disclosed for protecting the public from harm:

  • On Feb. 17, 2026, BCCNM received a complaint from the Manager of Clinical Operations, Interior Health, Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, in Clearwater.
  • On March 3, 2026, BCCNM received a complaint from the Director of Care at Dawson Creek and District Hospital.
  • On March 31, 2026, BCCNM received a complaint from the Emergency Coordinator at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
  • On April 18, 2026, BCCNM received a complaint from the Manager of Clinical Operations, Emergency Department, Burnaby Hospital.

All the complaints raised concerns over narcotic handling, administration, documentation, and possible diversion.  The Investigation Committee made the Summary Protection Order given concerns that the licensee may have been working while not fit to practice, the possibility of narcotic diversion, and a failure to be forthcoming with the college.

A Summary Protection Order is an interim risk mitigation measure made to protect the public during an investigation. Measures taken by way of a Summary Protection Order relate to concerns raised with the College that have not been fully investigated and have not been proven.
