On June 19, 2026, Jessica LePage consented to a discipline order directed by the Investigation Committee to resolve misconduct that occurred between June 2023 and September 2024. The respondent licensee admitted that she provided care by text message, shared personal information with a client, did not send all required referrals, did not document client contact and care adequately, and abandoned four clients. The respondent licensee consented to a four-day suspension and remedial education.
The Investigation Committee is satisfied that these terms meet the requirements for general and specific deterrence and will protect the public.
The Investigation Committee's reasons
The Investigation Committee found the allegations to be substantiated and was of the view that the respondent licensee's conduct did not conform to the BCCNM Boundaries in the Nurse-Client Relationship, Documentation, Medication, Client-focused Provision of Service, Knowledge-based Practice, Duty to Provide Care, and Ethical Practice standards.
The Investigation Committee accepted that the patients were harmed by the respondent licensee's conduct and was of the view that the respondent licensee's conduct was reckless in respect of harm and the risk of harm to her patients.
The Investigation Committee considered that the respondent licensee's conduct took place repeatedly over an approximately 14-month period.
The Investigation Committee considered that the respondent licensee has no previous disciplinary history and did not gain any benefits or advantages from her conduct.
The Investigation Committee considered that the respondent licensee has minimally acknowledged misconduct and has voluntarily reviewed the standards applicable to her practice.
