On April 20, 2017 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between CRNBC and Edgardo Santiago of Victoria, British Columbia to address inappropriate conduct of a sexualized nature with a colleague in the workplace.
In the course of investigation, the Registrant acknowledged the conduct, and initiated counselling to ensure it not occur in the future. He recognized the inappropriate nature of the conduct and its incongruence with his obligations to his colleague, other staff, and patients.
The Registrant agreed to a five month suspension in addition to the completion of significant coursework on harassment in the workplace. If coursework is complete within three months, the suspension may be reduced to that duration.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that these terms will protect the public.
