Consent agreement

Apr 19, 2017

On April 19, 2017, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between CRNBC and Catherine York of Fort St. James, to remediate conduct and competence concerns related to her failure to immediately report and effectively establish protective measures when she became aware of at least three incidents of sexual assault committed against vulnerable elderly residents by another elderly resident in the same facility. The registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a six month suspension and conditions on practice. Specifically, prior to a return to work, the Registrant must complete a series of regulatory practice consultations to review key concepts related to her failure to act, and educational coursework on Professional Ethics.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
