Consent agreement

May 31, 2019

On May 31, 2019, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Cloyd Pugliatty of White Rock, to remediate practice issues related to the following:

In the course of teaching students between March and July 2017, the Registrant made statements attributing certain skills, attitudes and behaviors to groups of people according to their ethnic background and asked a student why people sharing her background found a racial epithet, widely accepted as offensive, to be offensive.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to remediation, including education on cultural safety and competence, a Regulatory Practice Consultation, and a two week suspension.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
