On June 16, 2019 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and former RN registrant Jeremiah Cruz of Vancouver, to remediate concerns related to misappropriating sedatives from the workplace and providing them to a vulnerable individual in exchange for sexual favours.
The Former Registrant's registration with BCCNP has lapsed and he is not currently eligible to practise in BC. He has voluntarily agreed to an 18 month suspension of practising registration, which would commence immediately upon any future reinstatement of practising registration with BCCNP. The suspension could be reduced to 12 months if the Former Registrant were to complete rigorous coursework on ethics and boundaries. To successfully reinstate registration with BCCNP, the Former Registrant will be required to meet all registration requirements, including fitness, good character, and competence. Any future registration will also be subject to any limits and conditions the Registration Committee deems appropriate.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
