Christison, Jennifer, Former LPN

Consent agreement

Apr 17, 2020

On April 17, 2020, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Jennifer Christison of Fort St. John, B.C., to remediate practice and conduct issues occurring between February and April of 2018. Issues relate to:

  • Failing to attend work for a scheduled shift, then arriving when she was not fit to practice;
  • Failing to safely administer medications;
  • Failing to accurately complete two PSLS reports;
  • Faxing inaccurate information to a physician;
  • Failing to assess, document and contact the physician regarding a resident with facial drooping who had not eaten all day;
  • Failing to document and contact the physician regarding a resident who had aspirated while being fed, and failing to report this to the oncoming shift; and
  • Failing to insert a catheter using sterile technique.

Should the Former Registrant return to practice, she has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to limits and conditions on practice, including: undergoing an independent medical examination to confirm her fitness to practice, an extended orientation where she will have her competence to practice confirmed, followed by a 3 month prohibition from being in-charge or working as sole nurse. She will also complete a Regulatory Practise Consultation program and remedial education related to ethics, communication, documentation, medication administration and professional standards, and develop a learning plan.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
