The Inquiry Committee (the “Committee”) of the College of Midwives of British Columbia (the “CMBC”) has conducted an investigation into the professional practice of Ms. Millar-Lewis RM, pursuant to Section 33 of the Health Professions Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 183.

The Committee and Ms. Millar-Lewis have agreed to resolve all matters outstanding between them arising from the investigation pursuant to Section 36(1) of the Health Professions Act, and Bylaw 63 as set out below:

Ms. Millar-Lewis hereby undertakes to:

1.

Agree to practice as a Temporary (Limited Scope) registrant in a midwifery practice for a minimum period of 3 months;

2.

​Complete the provided learning self-assessment plan;

3.

Following 3 months and an assessment of competency as a second attendant, attend home births as a second attendant for any regulated provider for a maximum of four clients per month; and

a.  Report to CMBC every month.

4.

Not practice as a solo practitioner for a period of one year and limit caseload to no more than four clients a month;

5.

Take a CMBC approved Communications course (note: Completed January 2019);

6.

Undergo a random chart review process of a minimum of six and a maximum of nine charts, at least half of which are home births. Ms. Millar-Lewis will assume the cost of the chart review, which will be conducted within six months of her return to practice; and

7.

Report any issues with the execution of these items to CMBC immediately.

The terms of this agreement will be disclosed to the complainant. The terms of this agreement will be published.
