On October 6, 2020, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and William Beattie of Chilliwack, BC, to remediate practice issues that occurred in October and November 2019 related to making an inappropriate sexual comment towards/about a colleague, failure to consider a least restraint approach to care when caring for a vulnerable adult client, and lack of accountability for his professional communication and clinical practice.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to a three-day suspension. The Registrant has also agreed to a referral to a Regulatory Practice Consultant and terms equivalent to a condition on practice, including completing mandatory remediation in courses covering topics of caring for vulnerable clients in a clinical setting and professional/respectful communications.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
