On November 5, 2020, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Josephine Gowler of Pitt Meadows, to remediate practice issues that occurred in February 2019, related to breaching patient privacy by taking photographs of amputated body parts and sharing those photographs with family members and two physicians.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to remedial terms including: a three-day suspension, a public reprimand, educational coursework, an undertaking not to repeat the conduct and a meeting with a BCCNM Practice Support Consultant to complete a self-assessment identifying the circumstances leading to the current issues and preventing their recurrence.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
