Consent agreement

Dec 3, 2020

On December 3, 2020 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Graeme Last of Nanaimo BC, to remediate practice issues that occurred on November 13, 2019 related to one incident of physically abusive conduct toward an elderly patient with dementia.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to remediation as well as to multiple limits and conditions on their practice (a three year limit that precludes them from being the sole nurse on duty; prohibiting supervision of others including students); a permanent and enduring limit on working in a program area specifically designated to deliver services to seniors with a psychiatric diagnosis; and a six month period of suspension.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
