Bekturova, Anel, Former RN

Consent agreement

Nov 22, 2021

On November 22, 2021, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a  Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Anel Bekturova of Anmore, to remediate competence and conduct  practice issues that occurred between March and October 2013, and between June 25, 2018, and April  27, 2020.

In October 2013, Ms. Bekturova did not act in a timely manner, and coordinate care with her colleagues, to ensure a physician was notified when a patient in her care exhibited signs and symptoms that indicated they may have suffered a stroke.

In the 2018 renewal period, Ms. Bekturova incorrectly reported her employment hours to the College by including volunteer hours that were not eligible for inclusion.

In 2018, after a lengthy absence from practice, Ms. Bekturova returned to nursing and a number of  competence issues were identified that included: incomplete documentation and, the provision of  skin care and wound care that did not meet the standards and policies of the work setting.

Ms. Bekturova has voluntarily agreed to a reprimand and a four-month suspension of her nursing registration. Following the term of the suspension, Ms. Bekturova will have limits and conditions on her nursing registration which include a limlt precluding them from working night shift, providing regulatory oversight to students and orientation to new nurses in their practice setting, working as the sole RN or in the in-charge role. Ms. Bekturova will also complete remedial education and create a learning plan prior to her return to nursing practice.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
