On January 17, 2022, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Travis Peterson of Kelowna, to address practice issues that occurred during May 2020 related to medication administration, failure to wear PPE, and not providing adequate wound care.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to a public reprimand and terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
Direct supervision and limits on their practice for a period of six months, including a limit prohibiting them from working nightshift, supervising a student, or being in charge for six months;
Remedial education in Clinical Assessments, Medication Administration, working with Health Care Aides, Communication, Infection Control, Sterile technique, Wound Care and Documentation;
Developing a Learning Plan which will be shared with their employer and with BCCNM.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
