Consent agreement

​On May 9, 2023, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Mei-Lin (Jennifer) Li of Vancouver to address practice issues that occurred from March 2020 to November 2021 related to taking photographs of patients and clinical areas of medical facilities and posting those photographs online, breaching patient privacy by posting stories with detailed patient information online, offering medical advice to specific individuals online and outside of the scope of her practice, improperly using the RN title while holding provisional registration as an RN, and posting online messages affiliating her private businesses with the hospital that employed her. ​

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to te​rms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including: 

  1. A suspension of their nursing registration for six months.
  2. A public reprimand.
  3. Remedial education in privacy, ethics, misuse of title, social media use, and professional responsibility & accountability.
  4. A regulatory practice consulting program to address the foundational issues underpinning this Agreement.
  5. An Undertaking not to repeat the conduct. 
​The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
