Consent agreement

Dec 19, 2023

On Dec. 19, 2023, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Manjit Kaur Johal of White Rock to address practice issues that occurred between November 2021 and April 2022, related to issues with professional responsibility and accountability in relation to the clinical management of medical patients under their care.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. A limit prohibiting them from being the sole RN on duty, not working night shift, and not providing regulatory supervision to students or orientating new staff for a period of six months.
  2. Remedial education in professionalism in nursing, patient assessment, documentation, and medication administration.
  3. Supervision of their nursing practice for six months.
  4. Regulatory Practice Consultation.
  5. Developing a Learning Plan, which will be shared with their employer and with BCCNM.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
