On March 14, 2024, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a consent agreement between BCCNM and Elaine McQuade of Nanaimo to address practice and conduct issues that occurred in May 2022, when the Registrant reacted to a resident with responsive behaviours and slammed a door in front of the resident, inappropriately raised her voice to two residents, did not complete clinically indicated wound care on one resident, did not follow the appropriate practice standard when administering oral medication to two residents, and did not communicate to subordinate staff in a professional or respectful manner.
The registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
- A public reprimand
- Remedial education in professional accountability and responsibility and ethics
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
