JUNE 2026

Virtual sessions for entry-level education programs

In the fall of 2026, the Education Program Review team is planning to hold virtual information sessions for entry-level education programs pertaining to Education Program Review updates. We are looking forward to connecting with representatives from our recognized education programs. Stay tuned, more information to come.

New and refreshed learning resources—now available

Happy summer! We’re sharing few BCCNM resources to support your understanding and application of the standards.

Note: Updates to HPOA-related content on the website are still in progress and are expected to be completed by June 30. We thank you for your patience.

Surveys

Nursing Standards

BCCNM invites all nurses to complete two anonymous surveys about nursing standards of practice. The first survey focuses on your experiences with the LPN, RN, RPN, and NP Professional Standards and the RPN Code of Ethics. Your feedback will support the revision of these standards. The second survey explores how nurses use and apply standards of practice, including the workplace changes and trends.

Surveys close July 28, 2026

Professional Boundaries and Conflict of Interest

BCCNM is seeking feedback on drafted revisions to the Nurses: Boundaries in the Nurse-Client Relationship, Nurses: Conflict of Interest, Midwives: Boundaries in the Midwife-Client Relationship standards as well as a newly drafted Midwives: Conflict of Interest standard. We are updating these standards to reflect today’s health-care settings, clarify expectations, strengthen public protection, and better support culturally safe and anti-racist care.

Surveys close June 24, 2026

Cultural safety and humility pocket guide

We’ve developed a pocket guide that highlights key elements of the Indigenous Cultural Safety, Cultural Humility, and Anti-racism Practice Standard Companion Guide. To request printed copies, contact learning@bccnm.ca.

Updating key contacts

The BCCNM Education Program Review team maintains a list of key contacts for each approved education program. This list is used to communicate regulatory changes impacting educators and provide updates on the EPR process. If you need to update the contacts for your education program, please email epr@bccnm.ca to update our records.
