Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) now in effect B.C.

April 1 marked an important milestone for BCCNM and health professional regulation in British Columbia, as the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) officially came into effect, replacing the Health Professions Act (HPA). Concurrently, new regulations, including the Nurses and Midwives Regulation, have also come into effect.

The Canadian Council for Registered Nurse Regulators is working to update the entry-level competencies for RNs across Canada. You’re invited to complete a survey to help validate a draft set of updated competencies.
