Applications for initial licensed practical nurse registration in British Columbia

​​Initial applications

The application process you will follow is determined by where you received your nursing education.  Select the description that best describes you for application details. These applications are for initial licensure only; if you have previously held LPN licensure in British Columbia, you must apply to reinstate your licence
B.C. graduate
A recent graduate of a B.C. practical nursing education program.​
Canadian LPN
Currently or formerly licensed in another Canadian province or territory.
Internationally educated nurse
You recieved your nursing education outside of Canada and you have never been licensed in a Canadian province or territory.

Reconsideration & review​

​Under the Health Professions and Occupations Act, applicants may be eligible to apply for a reconsideration or review of BCCNM decisions.

​Licence Committee

Some applications require review and decision by the Licence Committee.
