Prescribing standards revised
We revised the standards for prescribing. These changes address gaps identified by various partners. Changes take effect Oct. 23, 2023.
PHO reinstates mask requirements in health-care facilities
The mask mandate applies to all health-care settings that are health-authority run, as well as long-term care sites. Effective Oct. 3, 2023.
MAiD: Health Canada Indigenous Engagement
Health Canada launched an online platform to gather views and perspectives of Indigenous Peoples on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). Results will help inform and guide MAiD policies across Canada. Provide input by Nov. 17, 2023.
Inquiry, Discipline, and Monitoring updates
BCCNM publishes a variety of professional conduct notices on its website. These notices include consent agreements, Discipline Committee and Inquiry Committee notices, and Inquiry and Discipline hearing notices. While all of these notices are public information, only exceptional outcomes (i.e., Inquiry Committee order, Discipline order, hearing outcome) and circumstances (i.e., discipline hearing) are highlighted in registrant newsletters.
BCCNM's office will be closed on
Monday, Oct. 9 for Thanksgiving.
